STS is offering a new and innovative learning series, titled
“Immersive Video Experiences,” for annual meeting attendees
immediately prior to the opening session on Friday, January 29.
This new and exciting series will replace STS University. It will
include 14 sessions—four offering an opportunity for participants
to get a 360° view of the operating room during a procedure
performed by a surgical luminary; 10 providing “deep dives” into
various procedures using a combination of video segments and
interactive group discussions.
In the OR with… (Four Sessions)
Experience a procedure “wheels in” to “wheels out” as a world-class
surgeon talks you through his/her thought processes and
demonstrates the difference between good outcomes and incredibly
masterful ones. A moderator will discuss with the master surgeon
critical aspects of the procedure, drive the 360° views, and engage
the audience during interactive discussion periods. Each session
runs 60 minutes.
Deep Dives into… (10 Sessions)
To complement and expand upon the 360° video topics, the series
also will include 10 sessions in which experts will take attendees
on a “deep dive” into a particular procedure, showing video clips
of procedure nuances and engaging the audience during interactive
discussion periods. Each sessions runs 60 minutes.
