The STS/ELSO ECMO ManagementSymposium is a 2.5-day educational activity that is designed to giveparticipants an in-depth review of contemporary extracorporeal membraneoxygenation (ECMO). An increasing number of surgeons and intensive carespecialists require advanced ECMO training to provide state-of-the-art care forpatients who require ECMO. Course topics will include patient selection,initiation and separation of support, and patient and circuit management, aswell as management of ECMO emergencies. The course will feature several hoursof high-fidelity simulation, providing participants with extensive hands-ontraining. The course is appropriate for both experienced and novice ECMOproviders.
